Privacy Policy
Last updated: 17 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information this website collects, how it’s used, and the choices you have. “I”, “me” and “my” refer to Daniel O’Brien, a sole trader trading as OBM Studios (ABN 27 528 375 339), who runs this site.
What I collect
When you use the contact form, I collect your first and last name, your email address, the subject of your message, and the message itself. I use this only to read and reply to your enquiry. I don’t sell, rent or share it with anyone, and I won’t add you to a mailing list.
You’re welcome to use a first name or nickname.
When you browse the site, some information is collected automatically by the services that run it, as described below. I don’t use it to identify you personally.
Services this site uses
Squarespace hosts this website. It stores contact form submissions, and its analytics record general visit information such as pages viewed, approximate location, browser and device type, and the site that referred you. Squarespace may use cookies to do this. See the Squarespace Privacy Policy.
Google Fonts supplies some of the fonts on the home page. When the page loads, your browser connects to Google’s servers, which receive your IP address. See the Google Privacy Policy.
Gmail (Google) receives a copy of each contact form message, so I can read and reply to it.
Embedded videos and posts
Some pages show videos and posts from other platforms. When these load, the platform may collect information about you, such as your IP address, and may set cookies, under its own privacy policy:
YouTube (Google): Google Privacy Policy
Vimeo: Vimeo Privacy Policy
Facebook (Meta): Meta Privacy Policy
Instagram (Meta): Instagram Privacy Policy
On the project pages with “Watch within Australia” and “Watch outside Australia” buttons, nothing from YouTube, Facebook or Instagram loads until you click one of those buttons.
Cookies
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses cookies from Squarespace, and embedded videos and posts may set their own. When you first visit, a banner tells you about cookies and lets you decline non-essential ones. The banner covers Squarespace’s cookies; embedded videos and posts only set their own cookies once they load. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some parts of the site may not work as well.
Where your information is stored
Squarespace, Google, Vimeo and Meta store information on servers that may be outside Australia, including in the United States.
Keeping your information safe
I take reasonable steps to protect your information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. Contact form messages are kept in password-protected accounts that only I and anyone who helps me manage the site can access.
How long I keep it
I keep contact form messages for as long as I need them to respond and for my normal business records, then delete them.
Your choices: access, correction and deletion
You can ask to see the personal information I hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Send me a message through the contact form with “Privacy” in the subject line, and I’ll respond within a reasonable time, usually within 30 days.
This covers the information I hold. For information collected by Squarespace or the embedded platforms, such as your IP address, please contact them directly using the privacy policy links above.
Questions or complaints
For any privacy question or complaint, use the contact form with “Privacy” in the subject line. I’ll acknowledge your complaint as soon as I can and aim to resolve it within 30 days. If you’re not satisfied with my response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes to this policy
I may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
